5 Easy Home Remedies For Longer Lashes

Many of us have thin, short eyelashes that never seem to grow. This can be due to an array of factors, such as: age, genetics, certain medical conditions, and hormonal changes. Since we can’t control the eyelashes we’re given, we should still be able to achieve the results we desire still. Countless amounts of women crave to have longer eyelashes. Some go out of their way to purchase fake sets, while others get lash extensions professionally done. Yet some of us don’t have the time, money, or hassle to maintain these eyelashes every day.

Well, you’re in luck and there is an alternative. Actually, 5 alternatives to gain longer lashes on your own by using simple products already in your household. Nonetheless, these remedies require a commitment, as well, having to follow them for several months for the best results. Go ahead and get started, as you begin your journey to the long eyelashes you always dreamed of.

1. Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline)
Pure Petroleum jelly (or Vaseline) is my favorite product of all. I already used it every day on my lips to keep them soft and moist, so putting it on my lashes was an easy transition. Simply put some Vaseline on your finger or a clean mascara wand, and apply to your lashes as if you’re applying regular mascara. I do this regularly every night, and it certainly helps your lashes grow faster, thicker, and stronger.

2. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is another great home remedy for longer and thicker eyelashes. Filled with several vitamins and nutrients, your lashes will stay moisturized and stimulated for continued growth. After applied, the lotion can stay on overnight. Just make sure to rinse it off with warm water the next morning.

3. Olive Oil
Olive oil is a key, natural remedy for thicker hair growth in general. Imagine the wonders this product can do for your lashes! Rich in vitamin E and oleic acid, the oil nourishes and adds a tremendous amount of volume to your eyes. Better yet, it also helps keep your lashes dark and more noticeable. Leave it on overnight, and wash it off in the morning with warm water for stronger lashes.

4. Green Tea
Green tea isn’t only healthy for your body, but your lashes too. Add green tea leaves to warm water, or simply steep a green tea bag into warm water until it changes colors. Wait until the water is cooled, then dip a cotton ball in the green tea and gently apply it to your lashes with your eyes closed. This promotes healthy lash growth, while making them stronger, thicker, and longer than ever. You can leave this product on as long as you want, then rinse right away with cold water.

5. Lemon Peels
An interesting trick is using lemon peels infused in olive or castor oil. The peel of a lemon is filled with many nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin B, and folic acid. All of these contribute to the growth and added volume to your eyelashes. Soaking it in oil before use helps enhance the cleansing and stimulating properties of the oil. You can leave containers of this product sitting for weeks, applying the serum to your lashes every night and washing it off in the morning with lukewarm water.
