A Message to The World

Speak up.

Says the one who doesn’t know what it feels like to question everything they say and shake at the thought of talking to others.

Cheer up.

Says the one who doesn’t know what it feels like to be upset for no reason and have no effort to get out of bed each day.

Give up.

Says the one who doesn’t know what it feels like to be controlled by their brain to clean, to count, to repeat and repeat and repeat.

Eat up.

Says the one who doesn’t know what it feels like to be concerned about their appearance and binge everyday only to give it up at night.

Get up.

Says the one who doesn’t know what it feels like to be down all day and doesn’t know if what they’re feeling is real.

Listen up.

You don’t know what it feels like to have a mental illness. You don’t understand what they go through every day. Their feelings are valid. And it’s okay.
