An Apology to Myself

An Apology to Myself

I apologize for not loving you from the start.

For not appreciating the sight of you in the mirrors that Ive came across

I’m sorry for trying to blend you in the crowd when you were always meant to

Stand out

I took you for granted & doubted every move you made

I’m sorry I made your flaws feel like they were all a problem without realizing that made you who you are.

I apologize for helping other people flourish while neglecting you in your darkest moments

You were always my Bestfriend but I treated you like an enemy

I’m sorry for trying to change the most beautiful parts about you

I love you but it took me a long time to express my love to you

I had to transform myself to treat you better

I let the negative thoughts in my mind control my decisions of how to take care of you

I apologize for not loving you from the start

I apologize for not being your biggest fan

Hi my name is Katharyne Martina, I’m Dominican and Dutch. I’m a Poet and also an Aquarius. Writing has been an escape for me the last couple of years. When I’m in a place of darkness, gratitude, anxiety, happiness etc. writing always come into play.
