Ashes

Will I burn in the ashes of death
Or will I rise above and soar
In the ashes I feel warm
Close to you
They call to me to lay down and remember you
To feel the ache and sorrow as it seeps down my face
In these moments life is still
It is me and you together in the warmth of the flame that is my broken heart
Nothing matters but the grief and sadness
And yet the blanket of ashes is comforting
It whispers all our memories and I hear you
It is intoxicating and makes me forget that you are gone
I want to forget that

Washington Native. I am an adventurer trapped in a broken shell. I love deep and loud. My pain and happiness comes out on paper. Enjoy.
