Father, Oh Father

Father, oh father

Who doesn’t leave behind.

You’ve taught me to love my darkness

And it’s sublime.

Subliminal and criminal

How can you be so kind?

I’ve looked into your eyes

And see the way I shine,

My shadow isn’t lack of light.

Your presence near,

Forgiving and beginning.

Protective father of mine,

I thank you for your time.
