Life Changing Skincare Products

Did you know skin is the largest external organ on your body? I don’t know about you, but I’ve struggled with skin issues. Fortunately, not in my teens. I always wondered, how could I have beautiful skin all throughout high school then develop acne going on 25 years old?

Luckily I’ve been able to try an abundant amount of products from working in the beauty industry. Hormones, weather conditions and diet are all huge components of how your skin will look, but finding the right topical products can be life changing! Here are my favorite go-to products that keep my skin in check.

It’s essential to have the best cleanser for your skin in your routine. Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip is cruelty-free product that is everything. It contains French green and Moroccan rhassoul clay to draw out the skins impurities. Not only does it balance out the skin, but it’s great for all skin types. Because it’s a purifying cleanser, I prefer to use it more after a hard workout or bedtime. It’s sold at Sephora and Space NK.

I know what you’re thinking, Isn’t Lqd a men’s skincare line? Fun fact, they are going gender neutral. I love the Hydrate because it’s extremely moisturizing to my skin, but gives me that matte finish I like. I have problematic skin so I prefer products with no fragrance. Added fragrance is a huge skin irritant. This will last you three months and you can find it exclusively at Bloomingdales.

When I hear a product contains Glycolic acid, I’m in! Don’t be alarmed by the “acid,” it’s a derivative of a cane sugar. Anyone with discoloration from acne scars, dull skin or even signs of aging, such as fine lines or wrinkles will benefit from Glycolic acid. Why glycolic as opposed to a scrub? The chemical exfoliant is designed to give you a deeper exfoliation removing dead skin cells on the surface.

The easiest way to achieve all these results is using a peel pad. M61-Vegan Skincare line makes PowerGlow peel pads containing Glycolic acid and Salicylic acid. I like to use these 2x a week at night depending on my regimen. Do you think I’m over exaggerating? Find out for yourself! Pop into any Blue Mercury and an associate will happily give you a sample to “try before you buy.”

These products have done wonders for my skin. Is that it? Of course not! I like to switch up my products but cleansing, moisturizing and treatment is the basis for fresh skin. Not just for me, but for you too!
