Phoenix.

“Time heals all wounds,”

they say.

But they do not say when

Or how

Or what

eases your sorrows.

The rug was ripped from below

Your feet

And you just lie there

Unable to comprehend

ever standing again.

But sure enough,

One foot after the other

You push your weight up

And you’re standing

once again.

This time you rose

Harder than you ever fell

And you feel the strength

Within you that you gained

from the fall.

For if the fire never burned

The Phoenix cannot

Rise from the

ashes.
