Recovery Clarity

It was never

what it seemed to be.

An idea you created

and anybody

could’ve taken its place.

Held in constant judgement

to a fantasy.

You never failed

to tell me

how I wasn’t

measuring up.

Ignored every need

yet eagerly

taking

and leaving me empty.

So convincing

that I was

to blame.

The twisted reverie

has lifted

and I now recall

the sanctity of me.

I am me. Still figuring it all out. Taking the steps to appreciate and love myself fully and achieve my dreams.
