Sister

She took her last breath.

All alone she sat.

Did she know it was going to be her last day?

Did she know it wouldn’t just hurt her, but others around her to?

I am angry.
Sad.

Full of emotions.

She left me all alone.

Does she know how I feel?

I saw you in your casket sis.

It wasn’t you.

Your hands were cold,

 like ice,

your makeup wasn’t done the way you would have done it.

It didn’t look like you!

I was in denial.

My sister couldn’t be gone.

Is this really true?

Hoping,

wishing this was all a dream.

It wasn’t.

My best friend was gone.

Never coming back.

That there was nothing I could do to fix it.

 I couldn’t save her.

Or help her.

I know she wouldn’t want me to be sad.

She wants me to succeed.

To be the best.

To grow.

I promised her I would make it.

Not give up.

I made a promise I have to keep.

I will.

 I Promise.
