Starved For Lunar Light

naked in the water

her reflection laps

and with a heavy mind

but a lightened soul

I ask her about love

distant as she is

‘nothing grows until fed’

she sighs a reply

the moon and her glory

shine down upon me

she gasps and asks of me

to dance in her light

but oh how I fall fast

so deeply in love

so I learn my lesson

as she pulls away

never dance in moonlight

she will feed too much

i welcome a new day

so very distraught

a glutton to her breath

she leaves love hungry
