Tied Souls

Tied Souls

Every time I try to leave you alone

I’m being pulled back

By the strings

to you and me

Keeping us together for eternity

I’ve tried to disconnect them

But it just cut me open

Left me hurting

Left me bleeding

And when it healed it left a scar

That hurts every time you’re a little too far

It aches every time you pull away

Burns every time I have to beg you to stay

I know shits just not the same

But which one of us is to blame?

We can’t help but fall back into the same old pattern

We can’t help but to fall right back into routine

Most of the time we look unhappy

But things aren’t always what they seem

Love isn’t always so black and white

Cause although i want you to leave me alone

My soul is empty without yours

Ever since we first spoke, first hugged, first touched in ways we probably shouldn’t have

Ever since our bodies merged

And you looked into my eyes in ways you never have

Our souls have intertwined

And tangled

And knotted up

And ever since I’m stuck
