Can you describe a specific moment when your faith played a crucial role in your journey?
To be honest, my faith has always played a crucial role throughout my life. It has been that important and special to me.
How did you initially discover that the strength you needed was already within you?
Believe it or not, after going through the challenging turmoils I have been through and experiencing the growth from it.
What practical steps did you take to maintain your faith and self-belief during challenging times?
I will be honest, I struggle with anxiety and depression, so I cannot pinpoint direct practical steps other than praying to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, listening to music, practicing my breathing and stepping away from the current situation that is challenging to navigate whether that is mentally and/or physically and finding positive tasks to do, such as creating, music, reading positive words and/or graphics.

How has being a single mom influenced your approach to personal growth and resilience?
I believe as a single mom, I have had to rely solely on myself to accomplish what goals, opportunities, etc that have needed to get done. I have had to walk through challenging situations and figure it out on my own and grow from it all. So I personally have had a front row seat, to the various seasons of challenges and growth.
Can you share an experience where accepting your vulnerability led to a positive change?
I would say 6 years ago, when I said yes to myself. That was a pivotal moment for me as a mom and woman. It was scary at first and I didn’t have a game plan of how it would work out, but I will forever be grateful that I made the decision because the positive change has transformed my life and is healing me.
What self-care practices or routines have been most beneficial in your life?
I would say taking the necessary “me time” and incorporating that in my daily routine. Using products that comfort my physical health. Facial and body products I have used that help with inflammation of my face, allowing for a vibrant, healthier face. And using healthy supplements that promote healthier areas for my body to function off of such as collagen, tumeric, multivitamins that help with the thyroid along with incorporating a healthy diet.
How do you balance the demands of caring for your children with taking care of yourself?
Each day is different, but I try to make sure I do something a week for myself whether that is to have a special dessert treat, watch one of my favorite shows, and make sure I buy something for me once a month, but other than that, I do not have a set day and time for myself. Also, I am a seasoned multi-tasker and I have a dedicated mindset that balancing things is second nature to me in a sense. I will say, I have alot of hard days, so as much as people think I have it altogether, I do not. I have my struggles, but I have that mindset that keeps going somehow
What role has community support played in your journey, if any?.
Community support has been very minimal in my life. I have had people come and go, but I am grateful for the time I did have as seasons do change and lessons are learned.
How do you handle days when you feel overwhelmed or defeated?
Days that are overwhelming and I feel defeated are definitely difficult for me to handle speaking honestly. I still struggle with it often. The best way I can say I handle them is that I pray and talk to my heavenly Father, I read my Bible with my kids, listen to music, dance/choreograph to move my body, remove myself mentally from the situation as much as I can if I am unable to physically. To continue with this point, I will say I love “creating”. For example, I wrote my first song almost 2.5 years ago, I was in a dark place mentally and physically, but at the time, I was financially unable to remove myself physically. I started writing and never thought it was going to be an actual song. So I decided to sing it acapella with a melody as a lyric of hope. And now, my song is my safe space of hope when I need reassurance. Another thing is, when trouble waters arise, I will generally personally reach out to people I know to check in to see how they are doing. Someone may be facing what I am facing, so I enjoy being able to give back if I can.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who is struggling with their self-worth?
I would say, “Your Worth is your powerhouse generator”. It is the fuel you need to help in every area of your life.
How has your perspective on challenges evolved over time?
I personally feel like I am “more” open to handling challenges than I was before even in the midst of struggling.
What have you learned about yourself through your journey of resilience?
I have learned that I am safe with myself, I am special and I matter. Wisdom has always resided within me. People will be blessed by my voice of encouragement.
How do you stay motivated to keep moving forward during tough times?
I have a positive affirmation that I wrote weeks ago that I like to keep on my mirror and in my purse to read and ponder on. Singing has really helped and being a content creator has really been game changing. Staying focused in knowing that I am creating an everlasting impact is beautiful to me.
Can you share any specific tools or resources that have helped you in your journey?
Listening to certified individuals that specialize in the specific area I may be struggling in. Whether that be a podcast, a book, attending a webinar virtually or in person, etc. The more encouragement that can be planted within, the more peace there is. Also, I sometimes will practice basic breathing. Using essential oils like peppermint and lavender, drinking lots water and herbal teas is another “go to” of mine.
What message would you like to share with women who are searching for inner strength and self-love?
The message I would like to share simply is: triggers and chaotic emotions will come and go like the waves of the ocean, but keep going by inches. Your worth is your powerhouse generator when you are searching for inner strength and self love. Check in with yourself to see how your generator is running. Nurture it well and make sure it is healthy and gets refueled daily. Just breathe, and know you will be okay. I believe in you and you are not alone in this.
