I have a pretty poet heart and mind for practical wordsmithing. Hi, my name is Ali and I'm a professional writer and editor, amateur baker, and wannabe dancer. I have two young daughters and they have taught me everything I never really knew about compassion, patience, magic, and humility. I grew up in the Bay Area and live there now with my husband (whom I met in detention my freshman year of high school when he passed me a note asking for my number and called that night so we could talk until the stars faded back into the night), dog, and two kids. I got my MFA in creative writing in 2007 and published my first book of poetry, Anatomic, in 2008. I work as a brand steward for a whole bunch of businesses and also have a little book doula side hustle. I love language and cake and nature and bad TV and being with my kids.
